We’re stoked to share that we’re part of this year’s Summer Holiday, Activity & Food (HAF) programme here in South Molton — and it’s shaping up to be our biggest summer yet!
For those who haven’t heard of HAF before, it’s a brilliant government-funded initiative providing free activities, food, and fun for children and young people who receive free school meals, or meet other eligibility criteria. It’s all about getting active, meeting new people, trying new things, and making sure no young person misses out on the good stuff over the holidays.
And guess what? Skate Molton CIC is right in the middle of it!
What’s Happening This Summer?
We’ve teamed up with our awesome friends at SMART Swim Centre and The SMART Action Project CIC to deliver three fantastic HAF schemes over the summer holidays:
1. Secondary-Aged HAF Club — Swim, Skate, Eat, Repeat!
This one’s for our secondary school crew (ages 11–16). It’s a jam-packed day of swimming at SMART Swim Centre, skating here at Skate Molton HQ, and a cracking lunch to fuel you up. Think games, music, good vibes and loads of chances to try new tricks and improve your skills — or just cruise around and have a laugh.
- Multiple dates available throughout the summer
- 11:30am – 3:30pm
- Meet at SMART Swim Centre, then head to Skate Molton HQ
2. HAF Funded Family Swim Sessions
For families eligible through the HAF programme, we’re supporting 16 family swim sessions at SMART Swim Centre. After you’ve splashed about, enjoy a pizza slice and a drink for everyone — because swimming’s hungry work!
3. HAF Funded SEND Swim Sessions
We’re also proud to be involved in the SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) swim sessions for eligible children and young people. These are quiet, supportive one-hour swims with a carer, followed by pizza, crisps, and a drink. A great way for families to enjoy safe, relaxed pool time together.
How Do I Book?
Bookings opened on Monday 9th June at 8am, and places fill up fast!
You can register your interest and book your places through the official Devon HAF booking page at www.eequ.org.
